Flouroline Pipe with Thermalok Liner |
Resins are analysed in the our Chemical laboratory for conformance to established raw material specifications. The liner is extruded under controlled conditions to size somewhat larger than the I.D. of the steel housing into which it will be installed. It is visually inspected for extrusion quality and design specifications dimensions. Laboratory analyses are also performed to verify optimum mechanical and chemical properties in the liner. Programmed annealing of the liner in one of the large ovens relieves any stresses introduced during the extrusion process. The liner is then drawn through a hot sizing die at carefully controlled draw rates and die temperatures which results in a calculated reduction in the outside diameter. A programme heating cycle relaxes the liner inside the steel housing, resulting in a snug liner fit. Design allowance are incorporated in this procedure to eliminate undesirable stresses in the finished product. Both ends of the pipe spools are then hot flared on one of the automatic flaring machine. Temperature, time and pressure are carefully monitored. The finished pipe is then hydrostatically or electrostatically tested and visually inspected This unique Thermalok process provides lined pipe with dimensional stability under pressure and thermal cycling conditions, which prevents liner buckling and cracked flares within operational limits.
