Innovators in conducting corrosive fluids since 1956, Resistoflex has maintained its leadership in the production of flexible and rigid piping and components through research and development. In 1953 Resistoflex originated Fluroflex hose made of black Teflon-TFE. In 1956 TFE lined pipes and fitting were introduced to provide the ultimate in rigid piping for corrosion resistance at high temperatures. This was quickly followed by the development of TFE contour molded bellows and pumps connectors and TFE chemical transfer hose. In 1964 two other liner materials, PVDF (Kynar) and Polyproplyene were introduced to permit the correct selection to meet maximum service requirements at minimum cost. This resulted in Resistoflex being the acknowledged leader in its fields and the world's largest manufacturer of fluorocarbon piping. The products are used in literally in thousand of applications in the chemical processing industry conducting different corrosive materials.

In 1967 Resistoflex incorporated the Van Stone rotating lap joint flange to simplify alignment of bolt holes and cut installation time almost half. These flanges are now available on all Resistoflex lined pipe and on Fluoroflex TMH and STF transfer hose.

In 1971 another Resistoflex innovation was introduced , the unique packless TFE Clamp Valve. Two years later a patented Fire Shield approved by the Factory Mutual System was developed for use with the Clamp Valve. This made available for the first time a corrosion resistant, firesafe valve approved by an independent testing agency.

TFE, PVDF (Kynar) and Polypropylene pipe linings are now available in heavy duty as well as in standard thicknesses. The heavy duty linings are desirable for their superior resistance to permeation and vacuum collapse in the larger sizes, and are an excellent selection for abrasive slurry service.
